A Touch of Margaret Holmes Soup

Ingredients:

6 to 8 large potatoes
1 large onion
1 large can chopped/stewed tomatoes
1 can green lime beans
1 can speckled butter beans
2 cans of Margaret Holmes tomato , okra, and corn
2 stalks celery
1 can cream style corn
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. of bacon drippings (optional)

Recipe Instructions:

Cut up the potatoes, onion, carrots and cook for about 18-25 minutes, medium heat. Open all canned foods. Drain off all water/juices. Pour in the lima’s, speckled butter beans, and the two cans of Margaret Holmes Okra, Tomato & Corn. Hold off on cream style corn until last.

After about ten minutes add cumin, parsley, garlic, pepper, salt bacon droppings. Add two cans tomato sauce along with one can tomatoes. Stirring slowly over medium heat. After 10 minutes add one can of cream style corn.

Cook on low for about 5 minutes or until completely hot. Serve with grilled cheese or crackers. You can add Texas Pete hot sauce if you like spicy.
