Mama’s Vegetable Soup
Ingredients:
1 (14 ½ oz) Margaret Holmes tomato, okra, and corn can
1 (14 ½ oz) can stirred tomatoes
3 - 4 Irish potatoes cut in medium pieces
3 - 4 carrots cut in medium pieces
1 large onion cut in medium pieces
¼ head of cabbage, cut up, small pieces
1 tbsp. veg oil, salt, pepper
1 tsp. sugar
Recipe Instructions:
Fill pot with water, cook for about 2 hours or longer, stirring every once in a while. Just before it finishes add a can of sugar peas.
Bake a cake of corn bread and serve.
You can also cook some stew meat on the side, cook in a crock pot overnight and serve with soup.
